Strategic Procurement Manager – Point of Sale Materials

As Strategic Procurement Manager you’ll be responsible for managing and developing a POS category (i.e. Coolers). Moreover, Supplier Lifecycle Management will be a core task of your daily business. You’ll collaborate closely with our internal stakeholders, our product management and our local organisations.

SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT

 

In this role you’ll be in charge of supplier management by identifying, qualifying, and developing potential suppliers based on the respective product category. Moreover, you’ll develop and execute specific supplier strategies based on the specific category strategy. As part of that, you’ll negotiate supplier contracts, perform supplier performance management, ensure supplier due diligence and engage in risk management.

 

STRATEGIC AND TACTICAL PROCUREMENT

 

As Strategic Procurement Manager you’ll also perform market research for products and services and develop negotiation strategies for specific product categories and suppliers. Furthermore, you’ll be in charge of negotiating prices and conditions.

 

CATEGORY MANAGEMENT

 

You’ll implement category or commodity strategies in order to optimize business efficiency. Moreover, it will be your responsibility to analyse markets based on categories, to proactively identify and validate opportunities, and to define goals. Lastly, you’ll ensure that the category management process is followed (by conducting opportunity scans, portfolio analyses etc.).

 

Experience

That matter most for this role:

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Procurement
  • Experience in project and process management
  • Understanding of technical POS category and state of the art procurement processes
  • Basic technical knowledge
  • Ability to drive the delivery of financial, operational and performance objectives against agreed targets
  • High level of personal energy and drive
  • Profound negotiation skills and excellent analytical skills
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Strong communications skills (verbal and written) in English and German
  • Experienced in working within a fast-paced environment, within a global organization
  • Strong working knowledge of contracts
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Excel skills
  • SAP experience desirable
  • Advanced Diploma in Procurement, Degree in Business Administration or proven long-term experience on the job
  • English: Fluent, German: Fluent
