Job Description

As part of Global Material Group Management, you will take a key role in Doka’s Plywood team of Category Wood. The spend under management is growing, and you be joining a successful organization. The Category Wood team is tasked to develop effective global category strategies with the aim to drive efficiencies as well as monitoring and maintaining the implemented strategy on an ongoing basis.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Sourcing Teams, Line of Business Leaders, key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Analyze information from internal and external sources (market intelligence) to co-develop and execute Doka-wide Plywood strategies, while securing supply and delivering efficiencies.
  • Act within your area of remit as prime negotiator with suppliers relative to pricing, terms, quality, and service.
  • Share ownership and accountability for driving and delivering results through agreed upon strategies. Ensure strategies remain aligned with business goals over time.
  • Work with internal legal and compliance groups to ensure category strategies account for relevant laws, regulations, and risk policies.
  • Support the Global Procurement Management Team in the roll-out of new strategic directives, limiting risks and driving value for the business.


  • 3-5 years’ experience in international plywood procurement, ideally with specific knowledge of the Russian and Chinese plywood supply market (you know the suppliers and you know the markets)
  • Excellent language skills (spoken and written) in English (and perhaps also Russian or Chinese)
  • Profound analytical and negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an approachable personality;
  • Proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
  • Ability to work in a flexible manner and under pressure
  • Ability to represent the company externally with key stakeholders

Additional Information

You are responsible globally. Due to the Headquarters in Amstetten and as well locations in Europe, not only the office in Amstetten, also e.g. Germany would be conceivable. The salary framework is also adapted to local conditions.

We are required by Austrian law to state a minimum salary. The minimum annual gross salary for this position located in Austria is 41.705,30 EUR according to the collective agreement (woodworking industry). A salary in line with the market is offered for this position, which is based on the specific qualification and adequate professional experience.
