Solution Architect

We are looking for a Solution Architect with a focus on SAP solutions in our Business Application department.

As a Solution Architect you bridge the gap between a business problem and the technology by designing the end-to-end solution and its components. You collaborate with internal and external experts or domain architects to find the best fitting solution by matching it to existing systems or identifying which components need to be built from scratch. Furthermore, you design, build, and operate shared platforms that are used to efficiently develop and run business-facing applications.

All the responsibilities we’ll trust you with:

SOLUTION ARCHITECTURE

 

Design solutions according to the business need using on-prem and cloud technologies that are stable, state-of-the-art, and supported by operations

Support the project manager to align the solution within the IT organization and vendors. Share characteristics, behavior, and other aspects of proposed components to project stakeholders.

Help to assess possible technical risks and issues.

Support in RFI/RFP processes to evaluate vendor proposals

Drive the adoption of new technologies, best practices, and proven reference architectures

 

INHOUSE CONSULTING

 

Provide in-house consulting to our service owners and business experts for demands to our SAP application and solution landscape

Support and lead problem analysis (e.g., RCA) in collaboration with our various partners

Establish the use of shared platforms and components

 

SERVICE OWNER

 

Own shared technical services and platforms to enable business applications to run stable and cost-efficient

Build and extent integration and runtime platforms

Provide structured support and consulting for these services

 

ARCHITECTURE MANAGEMENT

 

Manage and contribute to our architecture documentation

Build and promote reusable reference architectures and guidelines

Contribute to IT-wide cross-functional initiatives

 

Experience

Your areas of knowledge and expertise

That matter most for this role:

  • Experience in an architecture role or lead developer in SAP implementation and integration projects
  • Knowledge in designing and building integrations to standard applications and SAP systems
  • Good understanding of SAP modules and processes with common architecture and surrounding components (e.g MM, SD, PLM, AP, AR, Masterdata distribution)
  • Experience in using and operating SAP stacks (Netweaver, BTP, BW, …) on-premise or in the SAP cloud
  • Knowledge of development frameworks withing SAP – ABAP objects, CDS, SAP Fiori Developments, OData developments
  • Experience in IT project management and working with consultants
  • Knowledge of modern Web technologies and best practices like REST, GraphQL, API-Management, Data Ingestion & Streaming, CDN
  • University education and degree in computer science or related studies
  • Fluent in English, German is an asset
