Quantitative Analyst (m/f/d)

Part-time 20 hours per week, immediate entry if possible, Vienna (AT)

Your tasks

  • Using the existing data and statistical setup, generating power consumption/feed-in forecasts in order to keep the aWATTar customer portfolio in “balance”
  • Implementing daily power procurement orders with trading counterparts
  • Checking the functionality and accuracy of forecasts
  • Developing improvements of the forecasting tools as well as supporting the IT team in implementing them
  • Analytical support for aWATTar’s contribution to research projects and for future product development (related to marketing flexibility in different new energy markets, e.g. developing optimization strategies for the Intraday market; this part could also form the basis of a Master’s thesis)
  • Quality control of procurement/trading processes, incl. balancing schedules and billing
  • Analytical support for the sales team (e.g. calculating offer prices for new business customers)
  • Analytical support in fulfilling various data reporting duties vis-a-vis grid operators and public authorities

Your profile

  • Current student or recent graduate, preferably with academic degree
  • Highly analytical personality: ability to analyse complex data, handle the necessary software tools (at least MS Excel/Google Sheets at advanced level) and get to solutions quickly and thoroughly
  • Background / early experience in statistics / data science / AI
  • Experience with SQL database query language is an advantage
  • Strong work ethic and flexibility, ready to challenge existing processes/ideas, ready to take on and work on criticism
  • High degree of independence and integrity
  • Strong team player
  • German language proficiency is a strong plus
