Project Manager Procurement (PMP)/
Teamleader Procurement (f/m/d)

for our entity FLSmidth GmbH based in Leoben.

The job incumbent assumes overall responsibility for procurement activities within assigned project(s) to be executed in accordance with overall project schedule and budgets. Those projects are mainly, but not limited, handled within ENAR (Europe, North Africa, Russia).

In addition to the operational procurement tasks this role also will coordinate several procurement employees within Leoben, Austria and Chennai, India


  • Manages the procurement part in projects to ensure that all project deliverables are met
  • Analyses and evaluates different suppliers as a basis for the procurement strategy
  • Leads negotiations to ensure the best possible terms and conditions for FLSmidth in order to contribute to project profitability
  • Reviews contractual issues for specific projects in order to ensure FLSmidth’s procurement processes in close co-operation with Project Management
  • Acts as an integral part of the project team and closely collaborates with the project manager and other relevant project team members
  • Engages with and expedites internal departments in providing relevant documentation for timely RfQ process and PO placement
  • Places or supervises the placement of Purchase Orders by assigned buyers to meet project requirements regarding costs, time, quality
  • Actively develops sourcing alternatives and cost savings potentials in project execution by involving category management and project stakeholders
  • At all times, considers a total cost and risk view when evaluating and proposing project sourcing options
  • Acts as local coordinator for several procurement employees
  • Measure and Improve procurement processes
  • Motivate and Coach procurement employees


  • Preferably university degree in technical or economical studies
  • Minimum of 5 years in senior procurement / purchasing roles
  • People leadership and project management experience is an asset
  • Commercial and financial understanding
  • Ability to work and cooperate in complex organizational set-up (matrix, project organizations)
  • Proficient in Oracle or comparable ERP system
  • Enjoy working as part of a team to achieve tight deadlines
  • Fluent in English language
  • Work permit for the European Union
