The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) invests in clean energy markets in low and middle-income countries to generate energy access, improve lives and economic opportunities, build sustainable markets and combat climate change.

REEEP is a Quasi-International Organisation under Austrian law operating in a growing international environment that is rapidly expanding in influence and impact. REEEP values innovation, cooperation and commitment from its results-oriented team of approximately 25 staff at its International Secretariat in Vienna, Austria working hand-in-hand with partners based in our its countries of implementation.

REEEP’s offices are located within the Vienna International Centre which hosts a number of UN agencies and initiatives such as the United Nations Industrial Development Organizations (UNIDO) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

About the Role

As part of the REEEP International Secretariat, reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, you will support all financial matters both externally and internally across all functions of our organization. Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Day to day accounting
  • Processing of (supplier) invoices as well as invoices in regards of projects
  • Processing of bank statements, payments and other banking and cash related tasks
  • Act as the administrator for our timesheet system in BMD
  • Assisting the CFO with reconciliations, the annual closing as well as supporting the annual audit
  • Assisting with reporting (monthly, quarterly and donor reporting)
  • Assisting the CFO on some analysis and controlling tasks
  • Supporting the further improvement of financial procedures
  • General support for the CFO in financial and administrative matters for the organization

About the Profile

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience of accounting (Austrian Gap)
  • A proper certification as “Accountant” and/or further certification is mandatory
  • Experience with Austrian Gap either for P&L as well as the Balance Sheet is required
  • Good knowledge of BMD NTCS is mandatory (Admin functions)
  • First experience in general financial management (planning, budgeting, controlling, reporting, accounting, payment management, audits) is an asset but not a must. This is a growth perspective for the successful candidate
  • Good command of English (verbal/written) – Classes to improve are provided
  • Responsible, self-motivated, enthusiastic, accurate, friendly, calm, well organized and willing to improve
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel

About the Package

For this 20 – 30 h/week part time position, REEEP offers a minimum monthly salary of EUR 1,600 – 2,300 (gross, paid 14 times per year, subject to Austrian social security contributions, currently free of income tax due to REEEP’s special status as a “Quasi-International Organisation”).

It further includes five weeks paid leave as well as an average of 14 Austrian and UN holidays per annum. The envisaged starting date is as soon as possible.

The work location is the Vienna International Centre (“UNO City”) in Vienna, Austria.

Due to its special legal status, applicants must have or be able to obtain a valid residency permit for Austria/EU, but do not require a work permit.
