Data Scientist

Purpose & key responsibilities of the role:

  • Work on data driven digital projects, which includes the discovery of new insights and the autonomous creation of models and algorithms end-to-end (from requirements gathering to delivery and maintenance)
  • Deploying data science solutions to production plants. Operating, tuning and monitoring of solutions after deployment.
  • Develop ideas for the value-adding use of Data Science together with business stakeholders and translate business demands into executable solutions
  • Jointly with other group functions define a Data Strategy and Data Science Standards, which includes decisions on our machine learning stack, processes and our way of working.

Our expectations for this exciting role:

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, AI, Statistics, Computer Science or similar
  • 3+ years of experience in working as a data scientist or machine learning engineer
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience autonomous development of machine learning pipelines and the application of machine learning models
  • Experience in applying descriptive analytics and data mining methods in a business context/problem (ideally use-cases in the Operations/Manufacturing environment)
  • Basic knowledge of software development and experience in Python
  • Experience and knowledge in professional software development, agile methodologies or data engineering are a plus
  • Fluent communicator in English
The monthly gross salary for this position is according to collective agreement in the chemical industry based on 38 working hours/week at least EUR 3.450.- with a willingness to overpay – depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally you will also take part in the Lenzing bonus system. We offer flexible working time and remote working options.
